The Horns need this one to stay in the hunt for the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff. The Cats need it just to have a chance of becoming bowl-eligible.
Finally, the Kentucky Wildcats are back to playing day games again!
After a season full of night games, Kentucky will face the Texas Longhorns at 3:30 PM ET in Week 13 on ABC.
Texas, sitting at 8-1 and a strong contender for the College Football Playoff, will be at Arkansas this week before returning to host what will be its Senior Day vs. the Cats, then face Texas A&M in College Station to conclude the regular season.
If the Longhorns win out, they’ll be in the SEC Championship Game. However, a loss to Kentucky or Texas A&M could be enough to keep Bevo out of the title game.
Kentucky, meanwhile, is 3-6 and has to win out to reach bowl eligibility. A win will likely come this week vs. Murray State, but playing at Texas could prove to be the Cats’ biggest challenge this season. That will be followed up with the annual Governor’s Cup vs. a Louisville team that could still sneak into the playoff by winning out.
