One metric has Brea ranked as the second-best 3-point shooter in college basketball since 2011.
The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a hot start in the Mark Pope era, and a key part of that has been their shooting ability from deep. With wins over three top-10 teams, the Cats are proving to college basketball that they are one of the top teams in the country.
A key player to their offensive success is Dayton Flyers transfer Koby Brea. Ranked as the top shooter in the portal, Brea had his pick of schools while he was in the portal before ultimately choosing Kentucky over UCONN, North Carolina, Kansas, and Duke.
After shooting close to 50% from 3 last season for the Flyers, that shooting ability has continued as he sits just over 52% through the first 14 games. That has him ranked as the top shooter in the country once again to this point in the season.

And according to Evan Miyakawa, Brea is trending toward being the top 3-point shooter since 2011, only trailing former Creighton star Doug McDermott.

Brea continues to drive this team when it comes to their 3-point shooting. When he is on the court, teams have to respect him at all times, allowing openings for other players on the court. He has also continued to flash the ability to score from all three levels, especially when teams take away his shot from deep.
This team is fun to watch and continues to prove they are not down and out at any point in time. Not only are the Cats back, but the BBN is now getting Brea and Mark Pope to pose for photos holding babies.
Someone in the crowd just handed Koby Brea their baby and he took the baby and got a picture with Coach Pope.
