Three former Cats are on the move.
The Kentucky Wildcats continue to have a very active transfer portal season.
Kentucky lost backup center Koby Keenum to the transfer portal on Thursday. Additionally, defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver has officially transferred to USC, and EDGE Caleb Redd has committed to Kansas.
Keenum, a 3-star recruit in the class of 2023, chose Kentucky over programs such as Louisville, North Carolina, Penn State, LSU, and others. After redshirting in his first season, Keenum appeared in 11 of Kentucky’s 12 games during the 2024 season. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
With Kentucky aiming to revamp its offensive line, losing Keenum to the transfer portal was not unexpected. However, with significant changes underway, the Big Blue Wall will hopefully make a triumphant return in the 2025 season.
Silver, a 5-star recruit from the class of 2021, originally played at North Carolina before transferring to Kentucky. During his time with the Wildcats, he started 23 games and recorded 26 tackles this past season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
As for Redd, the 3-star recruit from the class of 2024 saw limited playing time during his true freshman season at Kentucky. He appeared in just 12 defensive snaps but decided to transfer to Kansas on Thursday. Redd will have four years of eligibility remaining.
