The players allege Hamilton promised $250,000 that would come from “business partners.”
Things are about to go crazy in Tallahassee as the men’s basketball program has an interesting lawsuit coming its way.
According to a report by Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, six former Florida State basketball players are suing head coach Leonard Hamilton for missed NIL payments during their time in the program.
Among the players are Darin Green, De’Ante Green, Josh Nickelberry, Primo Spears, Jalen Warley, and former Kentucky Wildcats forward Cam’Ron Fletcher.
The players allege that Hamilton, a former Kentucky assistant, promised each of them $250,000 in payments that would come from his “business partners.”
For Kentucky fans, Fletcher is a name that is a blast from the past. Starting his collegiate career with the Cats in the 2020-21 season, he later spent three seasons playing for Hamilton and the Seminoles before transferring to Xavier this year.
Obviously, this lawsuit will be a highly watched proceeding as it is really one of the first in the NIL era. How will it play out? We’ll have to wait and see.
