Here is a release from the Kings:
The Sacramento Kings announced today they have re-signed guard Malik Monk to a multi-year contract extension. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Monk averaged a career-best 15.4 points (44.3 FG%) and 5.1 assists per game in 72 games during the 2023-24 season. Monk posted 30 points and five assists four times during the 23-24 season, making him one of 10 players in NBA history with four or more such games as a reserve. In addition, Monk is the only player in franchise history with multiple such games as a reserve.
On Dec. 31 in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Monk scored a game-high 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including going 4-for-5 from 3-point range, in just 21 minutes of play. His performance made him just the third player in NBA history with at least 25 points, five assists and four rebounds in 21 minutes or fewer and the only player to do so off the bench since starters were first recorded during the 1970-71 season. Monk finished the 23-24 season as the league leader in points (1,110) and assists (370) as a reserve.
In 149 career games with Sacramento, Monk has averaged 14.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Monk was selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Kentucky by the Charlotte Hornets.
