A beautiful sight.
Time and time again, we’ve seen examples of head coach Mark Pope understanding the assignment for Kentucky basketball.
Whether it’s beating Duke, winning big road games, or embracing the fanbase, Pope clearly gets what it means to be the head coach of the Wildcats.
And boy, was that clear Saturday night when Kentucky scored a thrilling 95-90 win at No. 14 Mississippi State. Not only did Pope guide his Cats to another signature win, but he also got to celebrate the victory with a fan.
As captured by Adam Townsend on Twitter, Pope was seen meeting a fan in the stands who was in a wheelchair, along with his family, following the game.
Hey @DrewFranklinKSR @KySportsRadio So after the game tonight @CoachMarkPope comes out to meet some fans. Takes pictures and even FaceTimes someone but the best thing is what happened next. There was a UK fan in a wheelchair that couldn’t come down and he went up there to him pic.twitter.com/sCnHexY5Np

It’s a very touching moment for Pope to make his way into the stands after an emotional victory to make sure that fan felt the love and got to live up what was a very fun win for Kentucky.
