Koby Brea visited Rupp Arena for a Drake concert and was more excited to be at Rupp than for Drake. “I’m more excited about Rupp.”
Back in March, Drake and J. Cole performed at Rupp Arena for many people to watch the great performance, but there was one person there who was not on the team then but now is.
That night, Koby Brea was in Lexington to see the performance by two amazing rap artists, but he was even more excited to be in the historic Rupp Arena.
On the postgame radio show following Kentucky’s 108-59 win over Jackson State, head coach Mark Pope shared a story about his sharpshooter being at Rupp Arena.
“He was like, ‘Man, this is Kentucky.’ And his girlfriend asked, ‘Are you more excited about Drake or Rupp?’ He said, ‘I’m more excited about Rupp.’”
So far, Brea has played in four games at Rupp Arena and has performed very well, averaging 18 points per game while knocking down 18/23 3-point attempts, good for a 78.3% mark from behind the arc. He’s also chipped in 4.2 rebounds per game while posting plenty of highlights for the fans.
In Friday night’s game, Brea was the leading scorer for Kentucky with 22 points. If he can continue his strong shooting, he can easily get himself selected in the 2025 NBA Draft.
For now, it shows how amazing Brea’s journey has been to finally play for Kentucky and inside Rupp Arena for the fans who love him and the team.
