Kentucky is very intrigued with the top-10 transfer.
A slew of talented players have hit the transfer portal, and now it is Mark Pope’s job to figure out which of those he sees as a good fit in Lexington next year.
Not only must he evaluate their first with the players he has now, but he has to woo them into joining the blue-blood Kentucky Wildcats as well. With many big-time names often also targeting the top players, getting commits isn’t as easy as it seems.
However, Pope and company did get a win prior to their season-ending loss on Friday as Kam Williams, a Tulane transfer, announced he’ll be heading to Lexington.
Another name to keep an eye on is Georgia guard Silas Demary Jr. Pope had a Zoom call with Demary Jr. and offered him a scholarship hours later after visiting the family, per Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jacob Polacheck.
The fact that Pope and his staff went out of their way to visit is quite telling as to how interested Kentucky is.
NEW: While on a Zoom call with Silas Demary Jr. and his family on Saturday, Pope jokingly asked what the Demary family was doing for dinner.
A few hours later, Pope and the UK staff was with the family, offering Demary a scholarship.

Demary Jr. is a 6-foot-5 guard, so he brings some size with him, which is ideal. He shot 39.6% from the field last season with Georgia, averaging 13.5 points per game. Knocking down 1.8 threes per game, he has the ability to step behind the arc as well.
247 Sports has Demary Jr. as the 10th-best transfer player. Williams came in at No. 23. With a few returning players and an incoming 5-star talent in Jasper Johnson, the Cats should have an ultra-talented team for Pope’s second season.
Having Demary Jr. would certainly help this team’s depth as well.
