The Cats add to the defensive backfield.
The Kentucky Wildcats are on the board in the transfer portal for the fourth time in two days.
On Friday, Kentucky landed Alabama wide receiver Kendrick Law, Wyoming defensive tackle Jaden Williams, and Nebraska running back Dante Dowdell.
Then on Saturday, the Cats scored a pledge from Maryland Terrapins cornerback Kevis Thomas, according to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck. Thomas just wrapped up a visit to Lexington.
Originally a class of 2023 recruit, Thomas hails from Valdosta (GA) and was ranked 573rd nationally by 247 Sports Composite. He appeared in six games as a true freshman, earning a 67.9 Pro Football Focus grade.
This past season, Thomas appeared in 10 games, starting in eight while registering 21 tackles, two pass deflections, and a 49.4 PFF grade. He plays primarily at the boundary cornerback position and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
For Kentucky, Thomas looks like a depth addition who will compete for playing time behind projected starting boundary corners JQ Hardaway and DJ Waller.
