A former Cincinnati commit, Mikkel Skinner is set to announce his decision in the coming weeks.
Ever since Mikkel Skinner decommitted from Cincinnati back in September, major college programs have been in hot pursuit of the class of 2025 tight end.
On Thursday night, Skinner told A Sea of Blue that he plans to announce his commitment on either October 22nd or 26th.
The Kentucky Wildcats have been seen as the favorites for Skinner, but the home-state South Carolina Gamecocks have also been trying to land the 4-star recruit. Skinner saw the Gamecocks play the first three weeks of the season, and he plans to also go on another visit this weekend, according to KSR’s Zack Geoghegan.
Although Skinner saw South Carolina play the first three weeks, he went on an official visit to Kentucky in the second week when the Wildcats played against the Gamecocks. Kentucky’s performance wasn’t the best, as they lost 31-6 to South Carolina.
Since that embarrassing loss by Kentucky, they have gone 2-1, including a one-point loss to No. 1 Georgia at the time and then a big upset win against then No. 6 Ole Miss in Oxford.
It will be interesting to see where Skinner will commit to, but you can never count out Kentucky with Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow.
