Some strong words from the UK AD.
College athletics is about to change even more rapidly than the last three seasons have seen.
How so? Revenue sharing.
Coming over the next few seasons, colleges will now be allotted a portion of their budget to utilize for the programs when it comes to handling NIL. Obviously, with the changes that have Kentucky fans asking, how will this affect the UK?
Well, after appearing on BBN Tonight, UK Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart made it clear he’s given his assurances to current head coach Mark Stoops.
“There’s so much work to be done and so many things that we’ve got to make sure that our football program is settled on that,” Barnhart said. “We’ve assured him that the things that are important to him, he will have in place and that we’ll be able to find our way through to that starting point. But the foundational principle that we’ve got to make sure that all of our programs, specifically as we begin this initial push with football, have got the support that they need to be able to build our program and get it back where we want it to be.”
Sounds like Mitch is all in.
