See where the men’s and women’s basketball teams check in.
Kentucky basketball didn’t take a big tumble in the latest college basketball rankings.
- The Cats fell to No. 14 in both the Coaches Top 25 Poll and the AP Top 25 Poll. Ole Miss checked in at No. 25 in the AP Poll but did not make the Coaches Poll.
- The women’s AP Poll has Kenny Brooks’ squad up to No. 11.
- The CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 has Kentucky at No. 9. Ole Miss is at No. 17.
- Kentucky fell to No. 16 at Fox Sports.
- KenPom has Kentucky at No. 22, Ole Miss at No. 21, and South Carolina at No. 77.
- BartTorvik has the men’s team ranked No. 21 and the women’s team ranked No. 15
- Finally, the NET rankings have Kentucky at No. 19, Ole Miss at No. 23, and South Carolina at No. 92.
The Kentucky Wildcats are 1-3 in their last three games. It’s not good… Not good at all.
While their one victory during that bumpy stretch is an impressive win at Tennessee, the three losses vs. Alabama, at Vanderbilt and vs. Arkansas are hard to cover up.
When it comes to offense, Kentucky has plenty of players able to make shots, and collectively, they can score at a high pace. However, their defense is more than struggling.
Kentucky is one of the worst defenses in the country when compared to teams considered to be national title “contenders.” Over the weekend, they allowed Arkansas to take and make any shot the Razorbacks wanted.
Due to the team simply not being on top of their game recently, another slide in the Top-25 rankings feels inevitable.
As of now, the two most dramatic swings are NET Rankings sliding Kentucky from No. 10 to No. 19 and DRatings moving the Wildcats back from No. 16 to No. 21.
Meanwhile, EvanMiya moved Kentucky back just one spot (from No. 22 to No. 23) and Haslametrics four spots from No. 22 to No. 26.
The Wildcats will travel to Ole Miss on Tuesday for a Top-25 showdown on the road before hosting unranked South Carolina on Saturday at Rupp Arena.
