He’s been the difference maker two weeks in a row.
The Kentucky Wildcats are on cloud nine after knocking off No. 6 Ole Miss this weekend, 20-17, for their biggest win under head coach Mark Stoops. As the Wildcats enter their bye week, one particular wide receiver is having the best two-game stretch of his career.
Dane Key has 15 catches for 250 yards and a touchdown over his last two games. It’s his best two-game total as a Wildcat, with his previous-best being 11 catches for 149 yards.

While teammate Barion Brown made the big play late in Saturday’s win over Ole Miss, Key has been the consistent, go-to target downfield for quarterback Brock Vandagriff.
Kentucky’s offense was hit-and-miss to start the season, but it seems Key and Vandagriff have made a connection that they can continue to ride throughout the rest of the year.
With Key being dominant these last couple of weeks, there’s a good chance he could start to draw the attention of the opposing defense to open things up for Brown as well as the other Kentucky wideouts which would lead to a more efficient and balanced offense.
