Ament is delaying his decision.
Nate Ament initially planned to make his college decision at the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game, which takes place on April 1st.
However, during a Monday interview with the media, Ament revealed that he is not ready to decide where he’ll attend college. There is currently no date in mind for a decision, so it looks like this could drag out for several more weeks.
During the same interview, Ament discussed some of the other McDonald’s All-Americans who are recruiting him this week, including Kentucky signee Malachi Moreno.
“‘It’s a real true place where you can reach your dreams,’” said Ament about Moreno’s message.
With the final high school class of 2025 rankings coming soon, Ament remains a consensus top-five player at all four major recruiting services, the highest being third overall at On3.
The Kentucky Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils, and Louisville Cardinals were thought to be the only real contenders left, but the Arkansas Razorbacks have made a strong push recently.
Had a decision been made this week, Kentucky was unlikely to be the choice, so maybe some extra time can improve the Cats’ chances of winning out.
