Pope was flexing after the Wildcats took down the Volunteers.
Mark Pope and his staff are always recruiting, even during the season, and one name that is worth paying attention to is top-five prospect Nate Ament.
Ament is currently the highest-ranked recruit that the Wildcats are still in the mix for, and he recently cut his schools down with Kentucky listed.
BYU, Duke, Georgetown, Kansas State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas are other schools that are also still in the mix to land Ament.
The 5-star forward visited Tennessee most recently. Said visit was spoiled by Pope and the Wildcats taking down the Vols in Knoxville.
Even better: KSR’s Jacob Polacheck said that after the win, Pope walked by Ament after the handshake line to say, “Let’s go, Nate” and “C’mon, Nate.”
Ament is a sensational offensive talent and Tennessee struggled to find any consistent offense against the Cats on Tuesday night.
It is pretty fun to see one of the top recruits visits be spoiled by Kentucky’s win, especially if that school is Tennessee.
Ament has still not officially visited Kentucky, so hopefully that changes after the win against the Vols.
