Will Kentucky be able to hold off Arkansas for this top-five recruit?
One of the most plugged recruiting insiders in high school hoops has made a prediction for Kentucky to land top-five recruit Caleb Wilson…sort of.
While not actually putting in an official ‘RPM’ for the Kentucky Wildcats to land Caleb Wilson, Joe Tipton of On3 does say Kentucky is the leader in the clubhouse as of this moment.
In speaking with sources, Kentucky is the program carrying the most momentum for Wilson. However, I am paying close attention to see if Arkansas is able to get him on campus. I expect John Calipari and Razorbacks to be a strong contender to UK if so.
Tipton put his confidence level at 40%, standard for when he isn’t ready to make an official RPM pick.
In a separate article, On3’s Jamie Shaw also picked Kentucky for Wilson with a confidence level of 45%. Shaw is also not ready to log an official RPM pick, as he wants to see if Wilson takes a visit to Arkansas after a recent trip there was postponed. Shaw and Tipton both see the Hogs as the top competition for Kentucky.
Landing Wilson, the No. 8 player in 247 Sports and No. 5 composite overall, would place Kentucky firmly at the No. 2 overall recruiting class, with three 5-stars and one 4-star for Mark Pope’s first recruiting class in Lexington.
The early signing period runs from November 13-20, so time is running out for Wilson to commit in time for it.
Going to be a big month for this recruitment.
