Even though Dan Hurley plans to stay at UConn, Kentucky is still gonna do everything it can to pry him from the school.
According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, Hurley will likely say no to Kentucky but the school is going to make him say no. He thinks Kentucky will offer over $10 million per season for Hurley.
“I think they will offer him between $11 and 12 million,” Jones said, via On3. “They will make Danny Hurley, if he were to take it, the highest-paid coach in college athletics – and that includes football.”
Hurley is one of the best coaches in the country right now and has led UConn to two straight national championships. UConn has convincingly won both titles and hasn’t come close to losing in any of its tournament games.
Getting him would be one heck of a win for Kentucky but it probably won’t happen since he’s happy at UConn. He’s trying to build a dynasty with the program as it tries to three-peat next year.
If Hurkey says no, Kentucky will have to go back to the drawing board after Baylor head coach Scott Drew told UK no on Thursday.
