Earlier: One of Kentucky’s top recruits is reportedly re-considering his future after John Calipari’s sudden exit but he’s yet to make a decision yet.
Per Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times, five-star recruit Karter Knox re-opened his commitment after pledging to attend UK in March.
However according to national basketball analyst Travis Branham, Knox’s father says otherwise.
“Kentucky commit Karter Knox has not made a decision on the status of his commitment to the Wildcats contrary to other reports,” Branham said Monday. “Says the plan right now is to wait and see how things unfold at both Kentucky and Arkansas.”
Knox, whose older brother Kevin played for Calipari at Kentucky, was also considering the University of South Florida, Louisville and Overtime Elite before committing to the Wildcats.
The top-20 recruit in the 2024 class believed in Coach Cal’s vision for him in Lexington and its very possible he could follow the Hall of Famer to the Razorbacks.
“Coach Calipari, he has sent a lot of people to the [NBA], and I want to be a pro,” Knox said after choosing Kentucky last month. “He told me he’s going to make me a pro, so I’m ready to hoop and win a national championship.”
We’ll see how this shakes out as college basketball enters its offseason.
