The Cats look to get out of their slump.
Good morning, BBN!
It’s been a rough stretch for the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team.
They have lost four of their last five games, and their previous two against Arkansas and Ole Miss were some ugly losses.
The problem is obvious: defense. They can’t stop anybody right now, and despite some strong offensive outputs in this slide, it’s never been enough to overcome their lackluster defense.
With that said, it looks like there is some fire under Mark Pope. He’s been pretty positive all season, but this team needs some aggression.
After the Ole Miss game, he appeared to have hurt his hand. Pope didn’t come out and confirm it, but surely he was throwing things around in anger because of the performance, and it got cut.
Hopefully, that brings out the energy in this team, which is desperately needed on the defensive side of the ball.
The game is at Rupp Arena, and it’s an early one, starting at Noon EST. You can watch it on ESPN2.
