The Cats get a big win, and the Chiefs and Eagles face off in the big game tonight.
The Kentucky Wildcats came into yesterday’s game against the South Carolina Gamecocks in a must-win spot.
Sitting at 4-5 in SEC play, the Cats came through, earning a decisive 80-57 win, the largest win for Kentucky in conference play.
Kentucky struggled a bit offensively out of the gate but went up 13-11 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first half and led the rest of the game, leading by as many as 26 before coming away with a 23-point victory.
It was one of the better defensive efforts we’ve seen out of this Wildcat team this season, holding the Gamecocks to just under 33 percent shooting from the field and 4-22 on threes.
Hopefully the win helps this team build momentum down the stretch of this season with some big games coming up, particularly a matchup against 4th-ranked Tennessee at Rupp Arena on Tuesday night, followed by a trip to Texas next Saturday.
As for tonight, it’s one of the biggest days on the sports calendar, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
A former Kentucky Wildcat will be involved in tonight’s matchup. Former Kentucky tackle Darian Kinnard is on the Philadelphia Eagles roster. Kinnard played for the Chiefs when they won Super Bowl LVII.
Who do you all have winning tonight, and who are you rooting for? Chiefs or Eagles?
