What a win for the Cats!
Good morning, BBN!
As the celebration continues in Lexington and across the Bluegrass, the Kentucky Wildcats picked up their first signature win this season and knocked off their first top-ten road opponent in a true road game in over two decades.
After falling to Georgia by one-point and upsetting the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels, the question now becomes; did this win save the season?
I think the answer is pretty simple: Yes, it did.
After the blowout loss to South Carolina, the close loss to Georgia allowed some fans to buy back in but still had their doubts. This win will hopefully ease the minds of many when it comes to the offense and also prove that this defense is arguably the top unit in the SEC.
Now comes the time to respond. The Cats will get next Saturday off, and then their attention will turn to a unique matchup with a new-look Vanderbilt Commodore team. Pair that with very winnable games against Florida and Auburn throughout October, and the Cats could be looking at a potential matchup against a top-five Tennessee squad while they are 6-2.
Just gotta make it happen.
Go Cats!
