A tough loss for the Cats.
The Kentucky Wildcats have been on a roll in the transfer portal, but one target just committed to another SEC school.
Over the weekend, Kentucky hosted brothers Trevion Cooley and Tamarcus Cooley for a visit, seemingly hoping to land both for next season. That’s especially true of Tamarcus, who was a standout safety at NC State and can also play slot cornerback.
However, Tamarcus has signed with the LSU Tigers.
BREAKING: #LSU has signed NC State transfer safety Tamarcus Cooley, per @PeteNakos_.
Cooley was NC State’s highest-graded player on defense (PFF) + gives the Tigers a safety with starts, which is a big position of need.

At 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Tamarcus has built a reputation for his instincts, coverage skills, and hard-hitting ability.
Over two years, split between Maryland and NC State, he recorded 43 tackles, three tackles for loss, and three interceptions in 17 games.
According to PFF, Tamarcus has an 80.8 defensive grade and an 81.8 coverage grade this past season.
Now, Kentucky will have to look for secondary help elsewhere.
As for Trevion, he has not made a college decision just yet.
