It seems Kentucky is locking in on the former Nebraska running back.
The Kentucky Wildcats are looking for a running back in the transfer portal, and it looks like they may be locking in on their guy.
Dante Dowdell, who has formerly played for Nebraska and Oregon, is visiting Kentucky today and tomorrow.
Dowdell had a solid season this past year at Nebraska, rushing for 614 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Dowdell originally committed to Oregon coming out of high school in Mississippi, but transferred to Nebraska after his freshman season.
It seems like Kentucky will have some heavy competition for Dowdell. The 11th-ranked running back in the portal is reportedly also looking at Michigan, Georgia, and Alabama.
He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.
Kentucky currently has three scholarship running backs on the roster in Jamarion Wilcox, Jason Patterson, and Tovani Mizell. Dowdell certainly fits the role of a running back with power, standing at 6’2 and 225 lbs.
It would be really nice to see him doing this in Lexington.
