Shaedon Sharpe, the No. 7 overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft out of Kentucky, has committed to participating in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend on February 18th.
He will look to become the youngest player to win the contest (19) since Kobe Bryant (18) won the title in 1997.
Sharpe, who has been known as an explosive athlete since he was the No. 3 overall recruit in high school, has averaged 7.9 points per game this season on 19.7 minutes.
At just 19, he’s continued to receive increasing minutes with hopes to crack the starting lineup this season.
Sharpe is the first confirmed participant in this year’s contest.
