The college basketball transfer portal is officially open. We’ve seen some heavy player movement despite an ongoing NCAA Tournament. Kentucky is expected to again be an active shopper in the free agent market.
Mark Pope and his coaching staff will be looking for help on the wing and at the four spot. UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall emerged as a target for the Wildcats on Sunday.
The transfer is looking for his fourth school in four years after having a big season in the Big 12 as a junior. Kentucky is involved along with some other heavy hitters in college basketball. KSR’s Transfer Portal Bio Blast is taking a closer look at the college basketball free agent with one year of eligibility remaining.

Mid-major beginnings
Keyshawn Hall is a Buckeye State native who began his career at Cleveland (Ohio) Heights before moving to the Skill Factory in Georgia. The prospect then attended Denver Prep before finally beginning his collegiate career at UNLV.
Playing for head coach Kevin Kruger, Keyshawn Hall played in 18 games for the Runnin’ Rebels in 2022-23. The forward averaged 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists on .479/.500/.680 shooting splits in 10.7 minutes per game. Hall dropped 19 points in a conference game against Utah State.
But the year ended with a trip to the transfer portal.
Hall landed at George Mason in 2023-24 to play for head coach Tony Skinn in the A-10. The transfer started 27 of 28 games played for Patriots. Hall led the team in scoring (16.6), rebounds (8.1), and free throws made (114). The sophomore posted .474/.357/.844 shooting splits in 30.6 minutes per game. Hall earned second-team all-conference honors. The forward was a very effective on the defensive glass (No. 39 nationally in defensive rebound percentage) and drew fouls at a high rate. The stretch forward shot over four threes per game.
After the big year, Hall entered the portal again and finally landed in a power conference. The two-time transfer picked UCF over Arkansas, USC, and Michigan State.
All-Big 12 performer
Keyshawn Hall landed at UCF in 2024-25 and quickly became one of the best players for head coach Johnny Dawkins. The junior started all 33 games for the Knights and earned second-team all-conference honors. This was the top scorer in the Big 12.
Keyshawn Hall averaged 18.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists on .427/.354/.816 shooting splits in 33.5 minutes per game. The small ball four scored 40 points against Arizona State in January and dropped 30-plus points against Kansas and Oklahoma State in league play. Playing in a pace-and-space offense, Hall was a legitimate bucket that opposing defenses had to game plan for this. The 6-foot-7 and 235-pound forward could make threes, put the ball on the deck, and get to the free throw line.
This will be one of the best scorers to enter the portal this offseason.
Advanced Stat Profile: Keyshawn Hall
The three-time transfer will be on his fourth school in four years, but Keyshawn Hall is a versatile piece who can put points on the scoreboard. The forward has 1,198 career points and 497 career rebounds. This is one of the most accomplished players available in the free agent market.
The offensive numbers are impressive.
Stat | Finish | Ranking |
Minutes Percentage | 82.2% | No. 190 nationally |
Usage Rate | 27.8% | No. 139 nationally |
Free Throw Rate | 55.6% | No. 89 nationally |
Free Throw Percentage | 81.6% | No. 282 nationally |
Three-Point Percentage | 38.6% | No. 14 in Big 12 (conference only) |
Keyshawn Hall shot just 122-of-241 (50.6%) at the rim but that was a fair trade off for how much he got to the free throw line (244 attempts) in 17 games. The forward was a good rebounder at multiple locations and seems to be able to hold his own at the four despite being undersized.
This was an all-conference player at multiple stops. The odds are more than decent that Hall will be an all-conference player at this next stop. This is a player who can play the four and be one of the top scoring options for a good offense.
If you are looking for some floor spacing and positional athleticism in the frontcourt, Hall can check that box.
