The Mountain Mamba isn’t going anywhere, Big Blue Nation.
Kentucky wing Trent Noah announced Friday on social media he’s returning for a sophomore season with the Wildcats. The Harlan, KY native appeared in 24 games as a true freshman in 2024-25, averaging 2.7 points and 1.9 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per outing. He shot 45.1 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from deep.
In Noah’s social media post, he wrote, “still chasing 9”.
After a historic high school career at Harlan County (KY) that saw him finish as the state’s fifth all-time leading scorer with 3,707 points, Noah initially committed to South Carolina as a three-star recruit. But once Mark Pope took over as head coach last spring, Noah quickly decommitted from the Gamecocks and soon landed in his home state.
It took some time for Noah to find his groove as a freshman, but injuries to multiple teammates opened up an opportunity. His best performances came against Tennessee in the regular season. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound sharpshooter recorded five points and one rebound on the road against the Volunteers before posting 11 points, two rebounds, and one assist in the rematch at Rupp Arena. Noah finished with eight games of three or more rebounds. He went for four points and six rebounds in the SEC Tournament against Oklahoma.
Noah becomes the third Wildcat from last season’s roster to confirm his return to Kentucky. Rising junior center Brandon Garrison announced his return last week, while rising sophomore guard Collin Chandler did the same on Thursday. Rising senior guard Otega Oweh recently put his name in the 2025 NBA Draft pool but is maintaining his college eligibility.
