Sounds like the Cats may be fading.
The 2024-25 college basketball season is underway as the Kentucky Wildcats look to make some noise in year one of the Mark Pope era.
With an impressive start on the court, this UK staff has already shown some impressive recruiting chops making some noise in the class of 2025. Now with three commitments on board, Coach Pope and his staff seem to be shifting their focus to adding one more (maybe two) players from the high school ranks.
Well according to a recent update it seems that the Cats might be fading in the recruitment of five-star forward, Chris Cenac.
In a recent update by Jamie Shaw of On3, it appears this recruitment has shifted to a battle between LSU, Tennessee, and Houston. Leaving the Cats and Arkansas on the outside looking in.
Here is an update about the Cats:
“While Cenac took recent official visits to Auburn, Arkansas, and Kentucky, they are not schools I am hearing much about, at this point, when I talk with sources around the recruitment.”
Now, despite the changes in the recruitment, the Cats do seem to be in the lead for five-star Caleb Wilson. Does this play a direct correlation with that? Potentially.
However, it is worth noting that the Razorbacks have also started to slide down the list in this one as well. After seemingly picking up the steam with Wilson, are things trending for a UK and Arkansas recruiting battle?
We will just have to wait and find out how this plays out.
