Mark Pope says Andrew Carr is a game-time decision but is expected to play, while Wade Taylor IV will not suit up for the Aggies.
Ahead of the Kentucky Wildcats’ top-15 showdown with the Texas A&M Aggies, the SEC has released its injury report for Tuesday’s game.
For the Aggies, the big question mark was All-American guard Wade Taylor IV. Not only is he one of the best guards in college basketball, but he also torched the Cats in their two matchups last season.
However, Taylor has missed the previous two games due to injury, and according to the SEC injury report, he is out for Tuesday’s matchup. It’s a big loss for the Aggies in a game that, even without him, is likely to be a war for 40+ minutes.
As for the Wildcats, they were hoping to avoid another late addition to the injury report. Koby Brea was questionable to play last week at Georgia before suiting up, followed by Andrew Carr being questionable at Mississippi State but was also able to play.
The Wildcats were able to topple the Bulldogs thanks in part to a solid outing from Carr, who is dealing with a back injury and is listed as probable for Tuesday.
During his Monday radio show, head coach Mark Pope said Carr would be a game-time decision but is expected to give it a go vs. the Aggies. Carr did not practice on Monday as the team manages his lingering back injury.
“We do feel there’s a good chance he’ll be on an upward swing health-wise,” said Pope of Carr’s health.
Here’s to hoping Kentucky has everyone back to 100% or as close to it as possible sooner rather than later.
