Kentucky continues to move up in the rankings after the big upset win against No. 5/6 Ole Miss.
The Kentucky Wildcats had a historic win against No. 6 Ole Miss at Oxford on Saturday, and that got some momentum for the school to get some votes to be in the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25.
In the Coaches Poll, Kentucky is coming in at No. 33, receiving 17 points overall. Meanwhile, for the AP Top 25 poll, the Wildcats are coming in at No. 35 and have received six points.
As for other rankings within the SEC, Alabama is now No.1 after defeating Georgia, Texas is No. 2, Tennessee is No. 4, Georgia is No. 5, Missouri is No. 9, Ole Miss is No. 12, LSU is No. 13, and Oklahoma is No. 19.
Kentucky wasn’t the only other school to receive votes to be in the AP Top 25. South Carolina also received votes, coming in at No. 33 with eight points.
With eight schools in the AP Top 25 and two other schools receiving votes to be in it, it is pretty insane that in the near future, you could see 10 SEC schools in the top 25, but we will see how the rest of the season plays out.
For what it’s worth, college football guru Brett McMurphy believes Kentucky is the 25th-best team in America.
