Through four seasons with the Musketeers, Steele amassed a 70-50 overall record and a 31-37 record in the Big East. His teams earned top-25 rankings in each of the last three years before late-season collapses derailed any hope at a tournament appearance. After starting this season with a 9-1 record, Xavier spiraled yet again and finished the year at 19-13.
Steele and the Musketeers barely edged out Cleveland State with a 72-68 win in the first round of the NIT last night.
