Xavier now returns exactly no minutes from last year’s team.
Xavier is now down to no returning players. Ryan Conwell has entered the portal. I suppose it’s possible he returns, but let’s be honest with one another; he’s gone.
NEWS: Xavier guard Ryan Conwell is entering the transfer portal, source told @On3sports.

What Richard Pitino will now do is up to interpretation. He hasn’t even been officially at the school yet and he finds himself with just two players (Lassina Traore and Roddie Anderson) who have ever played a college game before. There are two freshmen still theoretically incoming.
Conwell was undoubtedly the most explosive scorer on this team. His 38 against Marquette were the high output for the season and there was always the chance that he could rip off a massive outburst and win a game. Replacing that will be very difficult. Even good scorers don’t pour in the points like Conwell could.
This is a the cost of the portal and NIL. Players don’t owe the university loyalty, but part of being a fan is hoping for it. It’s a brave new world. You can decide if you think it’s a good one.
