For the second day in a row the Cincinnati Reds utilized a big inning to put away the Minnesota Twins. On Saturday night it was a 9-run 4th inning that made the difference in the contest that saw Cincinnati pick up their second win in a row and a series victory.

The Twins struck first in this one and they got some help from Nick Martinez in the 1st. He hit Matt Wallner with a pitch and he would come around to score on an infield hit with two outs to put Minnesota up 1-0.
That would be the last time that the Twins would score. Nick Martinez would follow up that 1st inning with five scoreless innings where he allowed just one hit.
Cincinnati threatened in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, but came up empty. They did not come up empty in the 4th inning. The Reds would send 12 batters to the plate. They would score nine runs in the inning with Noelvi Marte, Jonathan India, and Spencer Steer all driving in multiple runs before TJ Friedl capped things off with a 2-run homer.
Jake Fraley would add on a run in the 5th with a solo home run – his 5th of the season. Cincinnati would put one more on the board in the 8th when Jonathan India doubled and scored on a single by Will Benson.
Brent Suter, who took over for Nick Martinez to begin the 7th inning, picked up his second save of the year. For the second time in September, Suter earned a 3-inning save in a blowout win.
