The Cincinnati Reds will have familiar faces and voices on their broadcasts. Everyone who was on your Bally Sports Ohio and FanDuel Sports Ohio broadcasts last year, as well on the radio on will be returning with one exception. Reds.com has updated their broadcasters page, which had been empty for much of the offseason, and it includes John Sadak, Barry Larkin, Jim Day, Jeff Brantley, Tommy Thrall, Chris Welsh, Brian Giesenschlag, and Sam LeCure. Notably missing was Annie Sabo. John Kiesewetter of WVXU has been on top of much of this news and reached out to Sabo for comment but had not heard from her as of the time of publication.
There is still no official broadcast schedule for either radio or television for the Reds. Kiesewetter had a few details about the radio broadcasts, which revealed three games won’t be on the air – all games that are a split-squad day where the other game happening that day will be aired. And he also noted that just like in the past, all games that will air will be on either 700 WLW or 1360 WSAI in the greater Cincinnati area. We do not know which games will be airing on which station yet, though.
What we do know about the televised games is that there will be at least 14 games available to watch this spring through various outlets. MLB.tv currently has 14 games listed featuring the Cincinnati Reds. We have the television and radio schedule for spring training available here and we are checking for updates every day to keep it accurate.
In all likelihood there will be more games than that as some teams, including the Reds themselves, have not yet released their television schedule for spring training. Do note, though, that these games will be available through MLB.tv and not necessarily available through FanDuel Sport Network Ohio (though some of them will). Historically, though, the Reds – whether it was with Fox Sports Ohio or Bally Sports Ohio – have had some of the fewest spring training broadcasts every year. Some teams broadcast all of their games, while the Reds have generally broadcasted fewer than 10 every year on their local broadcast station.
