Four playoff games in one day, if you’re in to that kind of thing!
A lot of Major League Baseball franchise made the playoffs this year. A lot.
Eight of them will begin their postseason journey today. At the time of writing this, the Detroit Tigers hold a 3-0 lead over the Houston Astros in the battle of ‘which cap will Justin Verlander wear on his Hall of Fame plaque.’
Verlander, I should point out, was omitted from the Astros wild card series roster due to his underperformance since he began dealing with a neck problem.
The Kansas City Royals will take on the Baltimore Orioles at 4 PM ET in Camden Yards.
The upstart New York Mets will begin their series in the artist formerly known as Miller Park against the Milwaukee Brewers at 5:30 PM ET.
What remains of the Atlanta Braves will take the field in Petco in the nightcap tonight at 8:30 PM ET against the San Diego Padres.
As we witnessed with yesterday’s doubleheader between the Mets and Braves with playoff implications on the line, playoff baseball is insanely enjoyable to watch. I can only imagine what it’s like when the team you root for is actually part of it.
